The box is done!

After finishing the decorative painting on the box, I repainted the inside an off-white, varnished the whole  box inside and out, and then put on the hardware.  And now it's done.

Rosemaling on the edge

All the edges of the box need to painted in red and gold.  When I get tired of painting straight (almost straight) lines, I take a break and paint flowers and leaves on the plate.

Waiting for paint to dry

I've painted two sides of my box. Now I have to wait for them to dry completely so I won't mess them up when I paint the other two sides.  In the meantime, I'll start this plate.  No point in wasting time, waiting for paint to dry.

Rosemaling Boot Camp

I just got back from a week of rosemaling at Vesterheim in Decorah, Iowa.  I finished the top of a large box and a small red plate.

Now I'm back home and I have to finish the front, back and sides of the box.
What fun!

I've been busy

I finished the front of all eleven ornaments for my rosemaling club (Ornament Of The Year) and five on the back as well.  After I finish the back of the remaining six, I'll varnish them all and then send them off to our OOTY master.

Another completed project

I don't usually paint on a green background, but I like the way this turned out.
