Ready to go!

I'm all packed up for Decorah, Iowa. I'll be taking a class in the Valdres style of rosemaling from Pam R. She's a delightful person and a beautiful artist.

Here's the mitten bowl I'll be painting. I cant wait to see what design Pam has created for us.

Done!

This is the first plate I've done in my new workshop. It was great fun to do. This little garden is interesting, but I don't think these flowers would actually be growing together.

This tulip, called a Parrot Tulip, is always a challenge, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.

At it again

Here's the plate I just finished. It's only about eight inches, and it was fun to do.

This is my new "art studio". It's fun to work here because everything is right at hand and I don't have to put it all away when I'm done for the day. You can see that I've started a new project. Let's hope it goes well!

Taking a break

I took a break from rosemaling to knit this sweater. Actually, I started it four years ago and decided it was about time to get it done. It's a little too warm to wear it today, but it should be nice when the temperature dips.

Red rim

I finished the center design and painted the rim red. While I wait for the paint to dry, I'll decide what design to paint on the outside edges.

More flowers

I had fun yesterday painting more flowers. They look a little scattered now, but once I paint the stems and leaves, it should all come together.

The center flower

This is the main, center flower. I still have more flowers and leaves to paint, and then a boarder around the outside.
